Making scented homemade candles is not only a fun and creative activity but also allows you to customize the fragrances to your liking. Whether you prefer the natural scents of essential oils or the long-lasting aroma of fragrance oils, the process is quite simple. Let's dive into the details!

First, you need to gather the necessary materials. For the wax, you can choose between soy wax flakes or beeswax pellets. Soy wax burns cleaner and holds fragrance well, while beeswax has a lovely natural honey scent. You'll also need natural wicks, essential oils or fragrance oils of your choice, and containers like mason jars or glass jars. Don't forget a pot for melting the wax and tools like a chopstick for stirring and anchoring the wick.

The process begins by melting the wax in a pot over low-medium heat. It's important to stir the wax frequently to ensure even melting. Once melted, you can add the essential oils or fragrance oils. The amount depends on the type and potency of the oils you choose. For essential oils, around 80-120 drops can give a strong scent. For fragrance oils, follow the recommended dosage on the package.

After adding the oils, anchor the wicks to the bottom of the containers using a bit of wax. Then, carefully pour the melted wax into the jars. Make sure to keep the wicks upright using a chopstick or pen taped to them. Let the wax cool and solidify for about an hour. Once solid, cut the wicks to the desired length.

If you want to add some decoration or a unique touch, you can consider using dried herbs like lavender or rosemary. Just be cautious when burning the candles with these additions.

It's important to note that essential oils have a more subtle scent compared to fragrance oils. However, they are the natural option.
