We've taken on the task of ranking Bath & Body Works' fall candles to help you discover the best and worst of the bunch. Remember those childhood memories of visiting the mall with your mom and getting lost in the aroma of countless candles? Well, now we're bringing you an in-depth look at the latest and greatest fall fragrances.
We conducted a smell test with our colleagues at Good Housekeeping to dissect the similar-but-different scents. From the classic White Pumpkin to the new Book Loft, we selected 24 candles out of the over 100 offered by Bath & Body Works this year. We smelled each one and rated them on a scale of 1-10, sharing our unfiltered thoughts to assist you in choosing between scents like Apple Crisp, Fall Apple Cider, and Afternoon Apple Picking.
Let's take a look at some of the candles we tested. The Mixed Berry Crumble 3-Wick Candle had a somewhat overwhelming fake blueberry smell. On the other hand, the Cherry Almond Shortbread 3-Wick Candle had a Christmas-y touch. The Pumpkin S'mores 3-Wick Candle smelled great but might not be for everyone. And don't forget the new-for-2024 scents like Vanilla Romance and Maple Pumpkin that left us with mixed impressions.
Some candles stood out for their unique and inviting aromas. The Mahogany Apple 3-Wick Candle had a pleasant and distinct smell. The Pumpkin Bonfire 3-Wick Candle was rich, earthy, and spicy with a hint of clove. The Together Weather 3-Wick Candle was soft and subtle, while the Marshmallow Fireside 3-Wick Candle offered a warm and inviting scent.
Among the top-rated candles were the Autumn Chai 3-Wick Candle with its spicy aroma, the Whipped Honey & Vanilla 3-Wick Candle that was simple yet delightful, and the Pumpkin Cupcake 3-Wick Candle that nailed the classic pumpkin scent. The White Barn Sugared Lemon & Spice 3-Wick Candle was zesty without being overpowering, and the Pumpkin Pecan Waffles 3-Wick Candle had a warm and fun fragrance.
The Fall Apple Cider 3-Wick Candle reminded us of bright autumn days, and the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin 3-Wick Candle was really heavy but in a good way. The Afternoon Apple Picking 3-Wick Candle had a crisp, clean apple smell that was like biting into a fresh apple. The White Barn Cranberry & Gala Apple 3-Wick Candle was highly rated for its wonderful aroma.
Not only did we explore Bath & Body Works' offerings, but we also discovered other fantastic fall candle scents. For instance, Amber & Black Pepper, Black Honey Vanilla, Red Apple & Cedar, and Rustic Palo Santo all had their own charm. And let's not forget the popular Pumpkin Spice & Black Walnut, Pumpkin & Sweet Vanilla, and Simmered Cider.
