I could not find Mosaic painting rocks at my usual craft store so I decided to give Michael's a try after wondering around for a while I asked if they had the rocks I was told they did not sell them.That was fine with me so I decided to spend some time in the store looking for other crafting supplies,the store was o.k. the lighting in the store was rather dark and they had a large 80 percent off Christmas sale, it's the middle of February.The store was very average compared to Hobby Lobby.

Nice clean store. Good selection of silicone molds. Items a bit expensive compared to Hobby Lobby. Decorative gift boxes are a bit expensive. They updated checkout with big screen checkout monitors that don’t allow for any privacy when keying passwords or phone numbers.

Very helpful staff, clean store that's easy to get around in and find what you need. They also offer a 15% military discount once you sign up for their rewards program. They have switched over to a self-checkout model, which I'm not a fan of, but that's just a preference thing for me. The staff are still up front to help with the process. Overall, it was a great experience!

I hate the self checkout. I asked if self checkout was my only option and was told that unless I'm using cash, I have to use self checkout. I asked again, I'm using a card, is self checkout my only option? I was told that if I "really" needed assisted check out I could get it. I told her at the start, that I didn't want to self checkout. Ok products, ok prices, nice selection, horrible customer service. Conclusion: I was forced, shamed or ignored into self checkout.

If you love Holidays, Michael's is definitely a place to go, especially for after Holiday Sales and of course, you can find many other great items, for crafts, which is the Highlight of Michaels.
