Trapp giveaway week spread five prizes across four channels, and it is a good example of how a shop can run several small contests at once.

How trapp giveaway week was organized
We offered five Trapp gift packs, each valued at over $100. Rather than one big drawing, we ran separate raffles on Twitter, YouTube, our blog and Facebook, each with its own entry rule, closing date and winner announcement.
Splitting it up meant people could join through whichever platform they already used, and it gave the shop a reason to celebrate a winner on several different days.
The winners are named in the post above, so I will leave the congratulations to that list.
The prize value, over $100 per pack, also gave people a reason to spread the word.

Trapp giveaway week was a busy one for the shop.
Why several small raffles work
Each raffle had a simple task. Tweet a message, answer a question in a video comment, answer a blog question, or post your three favorite fragrances on Facebook. A clear task and a clear deadline are what make a giveaway easy to join.
It also spreads the excitement. Instead of a single result that most people lose, there are four chances over a week, and each winner is announced separately.
If you run a small shop or a blog, that format is worth borrowing. Keep the rules short and put the closing date near the top.
The format is what made trapp giveaway week easy to join. Four short raffles with simple tasks beat one long form.

Entering a giveaway sensibly
Choose entries that you would enjoy anyway. Answering a question about your favorite scent is more fun than posting something you do not mean, and the answers are fun to read afterward.
Be careful with any entry that asks you to share a friend’s information. Good contests let friends join on their own, as ours did with the Facebook raffle, where each friend who joined also earned an entry.
Read the rules once, write the closing date on a calendar, and then forget about it. The best way to enjoy a contest is to treat the prize as a happy surprise.
Trapp giveaway week is also a gentle way to meet a brand you might not buy otherwise.
Think of trapp giveaway week as a chance to try something new.
Choosing a gift pack you would actually use
If you ever get to pick a prize, choose what you would burn. A pack of three scents you love beats a bigger pack of scents that sit in a cupboard. Think about the rooms you use most and which family of scent suits them.
For more on this brand, see the new Trapp fragrances and the question that fed one of the raffles, Trapp Giveaway Blog Question.
For background on how raffles work in general, the Wikipedia article on raffles gives a short history of the idea. Good luck in the next one.
If you missed it, watch for the next giveaway, and follow the shop on whichever platform you like best.
